Lankhorst introduces (i) a set of model dimensions, (ii) a kind of a framework for viewpoint classes and a somewhat more detailed set of predefined design viewpoints and (iii) a set of layers. All might be helpful when one is about to create views on a model I guess;
The author introduces
- model dimensions (p.89) – 4 dimensions; active-passive (or subject-verb-object), behaviour-structure, external-internal, individual-collective
- architectural domains (p. 51), later “service” contextualised elaborated upon as layers (p. 88) – as services and as ArchiMate concepts; business, application and technology
- architecture viewpoints (p. 153) -
- by purpose (p. 167) – design, decision, information. design is further elaborated by a set of basic design viewpoints:
- metaphorical directions from which one might view model elements (p.176) – inwards, upwards, downwards, sideways
- a predefined set of design viewpoints (p.178), categorised under the headlines early design, composition, cooperation, realisation and support
- by abstraction (p. 167) – detail, coherence, overview
- by purpose (p. 167) – design, decision, information. design is further elaborated by a set of basic design viewpoints:
